While at the University of Maryland, John studied economics and sociology. However, he always had an interest in insurance, as he observed his father creating a very successful insurance career that culminated in the development of his own insurance benefits brokerage, KFR Consultants Inc.

In John's senior year, he was approached by a recruiter for Nationwide Insurance in Annapolis, and decided Nationwide would be the right company to launch his insurance career.

John began his career with Nationwide as a Commercial Underwriter. He was quickly promoted to Special Agent, a program designed to identify and train potential management leaders. In 1992, at the age of 25, John became the youngest Agency Manager in the history of the company.

In 1996, John was promoted to a significantly larger sales district of Montgomery County. During his time in sales management, John completed both the LUTCF and the CLU certification, and achieved numerous sales management awards and recognitions.

His proudest achievement is the number of successful Nationwide agents he has hired and trained, several of whom are among the most successful agencies in the company.

In 1999, John made the switch from Sales Management to Agency by purchasing an existing small agency in Bethesda MD. In 2001, he joined forces with Frank Goldbach to form RG Insurance Associates. Together. John and Frank led the RG team to become one of Nationwide's most successful agencies, with six locations and thirty-five Associates.

John lives in Rockville, Maryland with his three children: Johnny, Kenny and Jessie. He enjoys being with his kids, playing tennis and golf, boating, and fitness.
